Mary Lanza was born in Oakland, California, in 1949. She was inspired to write Losing the Boomer Blues while living in San Francisco. She is a collage artist, poet, and writer. Currently, she resides in Silicon Valley. She is a former member of the Oakland Art Association and her collage art displays throughout the Bay Area, including Expressions Gallery in Berkeley, California.
